Introduction
Proper reconstitution is essential for maintaining peptide stability and effectiveness. This guide covers everything you need to know about reconstituting lyophilized peptides.
What You'll Need
Step-by-Step Process
1. Prepare Your Workspace
Clean your workspace thoroughly and wash your hands. Gather all materials before beginning.
2. Clean the Vial Tops
Use alcohol swabs to clean the rubber stopper of both the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water vial.
3. Draw the Bacteriostatic Water
Using an insulin syringe, draw your desired amount of bacteriostatic water. The amount depends on your desired concentration.
4. Add Water to Peptide Vial
Insert the needle into the peptide vial at an angle, aiming the stream at the glass wall, not directly at the powder. This prevents damage to the peptide.
5. Allow to Dissolve
Do not shake. Let the peptide dissolve naturally, which may take 5-10 minutes. You can gently swirl if needed.
Storage After Reconstitution
Store reconstituted peptides in the refrigerator (2-8°C). Most peptides remain stable for 4-6 weeks when properly stored.
